Sunday 11a.m. Worship Service
Sr. Pastor-Teacher: Rev. Mark A. Cain
Series: HUMILITY
LESSON
3 of 4: HUMILITY IN THE
LOCAL CHURCH
Text:
Hebrews 13:7, 17; 2 Tim. 2:14-17
Organizational Humility: In addition to the
divine institutions for the believer and unbeliever, the autonomous local church
is a Christian institution or base for
learning the plan of God. Each church has a purpose, policy and authority for
order and direction.
Enforced
Humility: The pastor’s authoritative teaching
and his system of delegated authority (deacons and other church officers) constitute enforced humility
within the local church for the royal family of God. The pastor is held
accountable to God, the elder board and the church.
Genuine
Humility: When the believer has positive
volition and a receptive attitude toward the Word of God he then becomes teachable and displays genuine humility.
