					May God bless, keep and provide for all the flood

 THE DOCTRINE OF SPIRITUAL FLEXIBILITY

1. A MOTTO OF THE ROMAN SOLDIER
"You may bend me, but you will never break me."

2. In the spiritual battle, we must develop flexibility,
the ability to adapt to pressures.

3. We must bend, but not break; adapt, but not compromise;
flex without failing or shattering.

4. Without proper temper, a knife blade will snap. The
same is true of people. Temper or the making of steel, results from being heated
and cooled.

Principle: Heroes with strength of character are forged in
the furnace of adversity.

5. The fires of trial and adversity are necessary to
develop flexibility (1 Peter 1:6-7; James 1:2-4).

6. When God places us in the furnace of adversity He keeps
His eye on the clock and His hand on the thermostat (1 Cor. 10:13).

7. God gives us times of prosperity in order to prepare
for times of adversity (Ps. 118:24; John 16:33).
